New York legalizes human composting and the sixth state in the U.S. to do so. Also known as natural organic reduction or terramation, this is very big news for the funeral industry at large.
New York residents rejoiced over the weekend as Governor Hochul signed Bill A382 into law, allowing for human composting to take place in the state effective immediately. New York is the sixth state to allow this process, closely following California’s approval of Bill AB-501 back in September.
